I finally went to the dog park last weekend and had so much fun running around and playing. Mom also bought me a little swimming pool so I can keep cool when it's hot outside. I love it but Buddy doesn't. That's okay, because I love it. Mom and dad just bought a new car. Well it isn't new but new to them. They got a Honda CRX and said we are going to take it to dog beach. I've never been to a dog beach before.

Gia
Today is a sad day because Gia died this morning. Gia was a Siamese cat that lived at Grandma's house. Gia lived outside but she was always around every time I went to visit Grandma. Mom said that Gia was attacked by a neighbor's dogs that got out of their yard early Sunday morning. No one knew Gia was hurt, not the nieghbor who came out of their house who tried to get the dogs away from her nore the owner of the dogs that came to get them back into their yard. As soon as the dogs were off her, she sped off running and hid all day and didn't come out til 8:30pm. We were getting ready to leave and mom was picking up my toys when Gia came out of her hiding space in the garage. She slowely walked towards her food bowl. Grandma poured her some food but she didn't eat any, just started drinking water instead. Scarlet ran passed her and Gia didn't eve hiss at her. Aunt Stephanie and mom looked her over because she looked like she had been in a fight. I tried to get a closer look but mom told me not to because Gia doesn't like dogs. They said she didn't look good and needed to go to the hospital. Aunt Stephanie and Aunt Evette took Gia to the hospital that night and the doctor stitched her up and released her the next morning. They found out what happened to her from the nieghbor and the owner of the dogs said he will pay for Gia's medical expenses. I think that was the least he could have done because mom said it was over $400 dollars and I guess that's a lot of money. I don't know what money is but you exchange it for things like food, bones, blankets.
Mom met aunt Stephanie at the animal hospital on Monday morning with my crate because her and daddy agreed to let Gia use it while she recovered. I didn't care because I don't like sleeping in it, I'd rather sleep on the bed. Mom said Gia had to wear one of those cones around her head so she doesn't lick her wounds. She didn't move when mom helped Aunt Stephanie put her in the crate, she just meowed once. She had stitches on her stomach, side, and by her tail. She had a few tubes to drain the wounds of liquid and Aunt Stephanie had to hand feed her and give her medicine. It's too bad that she passed early this morning. I could have learned alot from her about living outside and life as a cat. Gia might have been around 10 years old when she died but you would never have known she was that old. Mom said they got her when she was a kitten and shee use to be an inside cat, then she became an outside cat, then a few months ago they tried to make her an inside cat again but Aunt Stephanie said she was sad and wanted to be outside with her friends so became an outside cat for the last time. I wonder if cats and dogs could live in peace together one day. I know some of us dogs like cats and some cats like dogs but not all of them do. Makes me sad to think about Gia even though I know she's in kitty heaven now with all her friends.

El Gato!
Last night dad brought home a surprise: a baby kitten! It was so cute and little and cuddly. Mom carried it in her arms while it meowed. Wait a minute! What am I saying? I hate this cat! I can't believe they brought it home. I didn't like it the moment I saw it prancing around the living room floor as I sat outside with Buddy. As soon as dad let me in I tried to get but they wouldn't let me get near it. It even hissed at me and then tried to act all cute licking it's fur while I licked my lips. Mom and dad talked about it and they said we couldn't keep it (thank God!). That night the baby kitten slept in my kennel. I wasn't that mad about it because I got to sleep on the bed. Today mom took the kitten to my aunt Stephanie's house while they try to find a home for it. Mom said grandma named her "Snaggles" because she snagged grandma's shirt when she picked her up. Oh, and mom got me a swimming pool so I don't get too hot outside but then she also got some pepper spray to put around the sprinklers so I don't bit them and dig holes around them. Geesh! What do I look like, a dog?

Last weekend we went to the dog park again. I don't know why they insist on bringing be around those crazy dogs. All they do is run around and chase each other...I don't get it! Dad said I can't hid under the table anymore so he made me socialize. After an hour I have to say, this dog park thing is not that bad. Mom gave me a bath when we got home. At least I'm not getting those that much anymore because I'm staying cleaner. Plus mom is always spraying me with this coat spray that is suppose to help keep my skin from getting irritated or dry. And she's always brushing my teeth every night. I'm not sure I really like it but she likes to do it. At least I know I get to sleep on the bed when I cooperate! After my bath we were just going to stay home and relax until my auntie Stephanie called and said they were bar-b-quing at my grandma's house. I don't know what that is but it sounded good to me. Everyone was there including my aunt Vivian who I had never met before. She really liked me a lot. Everyone said I was so smart and I showed off some of my tricks to WOW them. Scarlet the terrible was there too and she tried to nip at me but I kept my cool and her mommy got mad at her. HA HA! I ran around a little with Nataliee and Gabriel. I was very happy to see them because I missed them. Later that evening, daddy showed up and I got to ride home with him. It was a very fun weekend!

Fetch Chloe, Fetch!
This weekend I didn't do much besides hang out with Buddy and Scarlet. On Sunday I did get to go for a walk to the park by our house with mom. We met a man and his daughter on our way there. I really liked them. Mom played "fetch" with me and she gave me treats every time I brought the ball back to her. I think I like this game. We ran around the park too, it was fun. Mom and dad are teaching me how to hold a treat on my nose but I don't like it too much because I want to eat it not hold it! And then, she gave me a bath. I don't want a bath! Today I have to get my ears cleaned too...will this torture of cleanliness ever end???? I guess it's a small price to pay to be inside the house.

Close call
Last Friday mom was in a car accident on the way home from work. She was hit from behind and lost control of her car. She said she doesn't remember how 5 cars were involved but she knows she hit one during the spin out. She said that she's glad no one was hurt and everyone walked away from it. So right now she doesn't have a car and had to borrow one. I'm just happy she's ok. On Saturday we went with grandma and my aunt Evette to see Nataliee play T-ball. She's really good and looks so cute hitting the ball because it looks like the bat is too heavy for her. Scarlet was there too. Since my mom didn't have a car to drive that weekend, I didn't get to go to the dog park or to visit Rufus. Maybe next weekend.

Easter Weekend
Last night mom didn't get to sleep well. Actually she never gets to sleep well when I sleep on the bed. I like to stretch my legs and sometimes I kick her by accident. I don't mean to!
On Saturday I went to the dog park with mom and dad. I still have to get use to all those dogs running around. I made some human friends though. They would pat me on the head and I'd hide under the table by them. Then dad would call me to come out and when I'd come out, some other dog comes up to us to say hi.
On Sunday we went to a human park with the family. It was fun because there were lots of other dogs there and Scarlet came too. We went for a walk around the pond and saw ducks and turtles swimming around. Then some people came with a big Pit Bull and so Scarlet and I went to say hi. Dad came and took us away because he said that dog didn't want to be friends. That's ok because I took a long nap on the grass in the nice warm sun! Mom made me an Easter basket filled with bones and treats. I even got a white chocolate bunny that she let me taste. I loved spending time with all my cousins and my aunts and uncles.
